This was such an adventurous day with Niki and Hank! I love to travel so when they told me they were bringing me along for their adventure mountain wedding in Tahoe, I was sold! The crazy part is that this day was actually happening at the same time as the Tahoe fire in South Lake area. It was so empty and perfectly clear in the Olympic Village Lodge in Squaw Valley (now names Palisades Tahoe). I loved how fun this entire day was and how genuine they were to their unique love. Say I Do In The Mountains Of Tahoe!
There was so many fun elements to this wedding day! For their first look we took an aerial tram all the way up to the top of the mountain which was like a 15-20 minute ride. It was definitely not for the faint of heart or people who are scared of heights! But, it was stunning and showed a 360 view of the whole valley! We took their first look portraits up top then came down and met the rest of the wedding party and guests at the venue. The rest of the evening was great and very chill! The groom sang a song for the bride before the first dance it was so sweet. Everyone was tearing up! Such a perfect day!
Proposal Story
“When Niki and Hank first began dating, Niki mentioned that she’d like to be proposed to in front of a lighthouse. Niki had completely forgotten about this whim. Hank remembered, and so he began plotting with one of their dear friends Mike to stage a “photo shoot”. This was going to be at the Point Loma Lighthouse in San Diego. They arrived at the park, dangerously close to closing time. They hurried on over to the lighthouse to begin shooting pictures.
It wasn’t long before Hank got down on his knee and popped the question! Niki was so excited that she almost stumbled right off the cliff. Once she regained her balance, her shaky hands donned the ring, they picked up some tacos and margs, took their feast to the beach where they watched the sunset and basked in the perfection of the moment, then ended the night watching Singing in the Rain (Niki’s favorite movie) back at home. It was just wonderful.” – Niki & Hank
