Rock & Roll San Francisco Elopement

Meet me at Haight-Ashbury

Have you ever been the kind of person who went against the grain? Are you against tradition and strive for being unique? That is the vibe I felt when photographing this Rock & Roll Elopement in the Haight-Ashbury District in San Francisco, Hosted by Evolve Workshops. I love weddings and elopements, but I love things that are different and break away from the things we expect or see daily. It is so exciting to get to photograph a really fun and dare I say, hip, elopement set in the iconic hippy streets of San Francisco. I am a sucker for history and this location has a lot of it. It is the perfect backdrop for this type of session and especially for individuals or couples who want to break away from tradition.

Given the current pandemic climate, wedding experiences are going to evolve and change. Large groupings will still happen in the future but the outlook on it may be different. The stress of not knowing what the future holds can impact a very important day in your life. Elopements will be the new and normal way of getting married for the coming years. This is not just because of the current situation but people will realize that “Wow, OMG this is so much more fun than having to deal with what my family wants and needs on a day that should be about me and my partner!” Instead of focusing on stress that goes into hosting 100+ guests, couples can now focus on themselves and create something more fun and unique.

This San Francisco Elopement is exactly that! This is session was personalized, it focused on the couple’s interests, and emphasized one of the most important aspects of marriage, love. Yes, you can get those same things at weddings but the stress of making that happen can sometimes be overwhelming. When it is just you and your partner, plus maybe a few extra friends or family, you can save a lot more money and add a lot more fun activities to your day. For instance, this event, they went to a cool pinball arcade called Free Gold Watch. Let’s see you trying to accommodate a whole wedding in a tight place like that! They also brought their motorcycle and ate delicious pizza at Escape from New York Pizza. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like such a perfect day. The freedom of creating your own day is so exciting and I can’t wait to see how everyone chooses to do their own elopements!
